How do I turn it off? Too many boxes and the cornflower blue makes for a weird background color to display art on.

Its on Account Settings under the Account Personalization section. And yes its hard to navigate and I'll never use the modern layout. Its so clunky and awkward looking compared to classic.

The only real good thing I can see coming from this new layout is it allows people to read stories more easily. Which is a tiny consolation to us writers.
