Well... I don't know about categorising these, but, what forms do you imagine for them ? Naga, anthro, maybe even a taur ? The latter can have several stomachs, in the torso or lower half ! Do you want them to have a cobra hood, or do you consider a long, flexible neck more fun ? One neat little detail you can give them is a rattle, if that suits you ! I think it's a fun one, especially if you use it for hypnosis, if you give the snake that ability..

Zero arms but 3-5 hypno slaves who have gotten very very good at interpreting very subtle cues for what to do with their hands. Possibly direct psychic mind control of them.

6) forked rattsnake tail; prominent crest running along it's back (like a dimetrodon, but smaller and fleshy); flexible fanned 'crown' (like a Dilophosaurus); paralyzing poison?
7) Perhaps has armoured plates as part of the body and abdomen that can open to consume/absorb prey easier? At this point thinking in the direction of an Hydralisk.

Well since I've been playin around for about a couple years with mine, could give a tip or two.

1)/2) The colours themselves aren't too important, if they are made of goo you should make them a simpler design though. No small little patterns that would disort. You also want nice contrasting colours, I found with my dark snake that without some clear deviating white cloths his body would kinda blend in with itself.

As for colours, I think black, red, with gold could like really nice, give it a bit of a regal vampiric flair that might fit a nice sharp personality or something more monsterous.

3) Arms are a good question. I personally like 4, HOWEVER, do keep in mind that you should have 2 sets of pectorals on the chest if you do so or else they will kinda squish together on the torso. If you want to give them legs or give them breasts, I would keep it to 2 arms.

You could also do two smaller like insectoid arms rather than them being hte same size, depends what traits you envision for your snake!

4) Absorption or like engulfment if its made of goo its always a bit underdone. Vore doesn't need to happen from a mouth :V
5) Honestly, do something that gives him a bit of flair, a bit of personality. If its gonna be a slime being, have it fit the aesthetic in maybe be deceitful or proud. Have them sprawl over someone, tempting them, play with their food-esque.
6) Piercings can be fun, but again the more details and quirks with a goo design, the more chaotic it will be!
7) If you are gonna make them goo, giving them aquatic traits like fins and frills could be interesting, could fit the theme you go for as well.
