Impersonation Notice (and General Tips)

General
Not sure why this keeps happening and I apologize for all these notices about them x_x but there is someone on Discord impersonating me (and presumably other artists) with the name “kashioliverart”. They have tried to impersonate me to get my clients to send them money. Note that I will never end an auction early and will never contact you on another platform unless we’ve agreed to do so. Because this is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened, I’ve constructed a few tips to help identify an impersonation scam.
First of all, I will never do this. It is against the PayPal Terms and I am a registered merchant. People who do this are trying to evade Buyer Protection. This means you cannot get a refund if issues arise. Do not send your money to anyone who asks you to pay via “friends and family”.
This will never happen. I abide by my deadlines because I have a lot of work to do. Ending a sale early means I have to reschedule my whole week. It does not make sense to do this.
This is because the only way for them to contact you is on another platform or another account. Please always be sure to check their username, email, social media, to make sure that it matches the links I give on my profile. Even so, I will never contact you on a different platform without notifying you first.
Impersonators use one account to impersonate many artists in one go. This means that their username might match a different artist’s name. Sometimes, they’re more careful and actually change their names to reflect the person they’re impersonating, but if they don’t change it, it’s an obvious indicator that they are impersonating many artists at once.
I am Trendsetter on FurAffinity. Velnoir on DeviantArt and Bluesky. And trendysett on Twitter/Instagram.

Lastly, I am seriously looking into making all sales PRIVATE. This is the best way to avoid scammers targeting my clients. From now on, bids, sales, and claims on YCHs are private. Comments will be disabled.
