December 2025 Update

General
Happy Holidays, everyone!
Well, 2025 has been another rough year, to say the least. I've had a run of bad luck throughout most of the year with several setbacks, and throughout all of it, a lot of you have been very kind, generous and patient with me- if not for your support, I don't know how I would've gotten through the year. And now, I'm still standing on about a dozen or so commissions; some of you have been waiting for a long time, and for others, I've missed a few deadlines, which feels like a poor return on everyone putting their trust in me.
However, with the Holidays here, I'm still in need of some cash to see me through to the big day, so here's what I want to do- starting now and going through the holidays, I plan to write between 5 to 10 thousand words every day. That will be more than sufficient to get through a significant amount of my backlog, and get you all your stories. Again, I'm grateful for your trust and patience, and also embarrassed I've not been able to get the stories out as fast as you all deserve. Some of you are people who have supported me for years, some of you commissioned me for the first time- and I don't want to take for granted the trust you put in me. Thank you again, and I'm aiming to clear off my queue by January- see you all then!
Take care, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, all that jazz,
-Renard

Happy holidays. βοΈ π β
I really do hope things start to look up for you. As someone that writes as well, I would say try to stick to a much, much smaller goal. I can't imagine writing 5000-10000 words a day being comfortable at all. Something like that would just burn me out. So long as you're having fun with it, I would say write as long as you want! But I would stick to a goal like 2000 or even 1000 words a day just to start putting words on a page. :)
I just wanted to say something because I've certainly been in rough spots as well. Writing is a whole different ballpark and I've had highs and lows. I believe everyone that has commissioned you understands that it takes time and energy to write. I wouldn't worry too much! Just don't get burnt out and write nothing, you know?
I hope you have a great December in any case!
1. Stay hydrated, and don't lean on caffeine too much.
2. Make sure you have something sweet midway through because the brain is a sugar addict, and you'll burn a lot of energy doing this.
3. Take a break for 15-20 after every hour, or section/chapter, and don't look at your screen.
4, Have no connection to the internet, it's too much of a distraction.
5. Maintain your sleep schedule and stick to it. Otherwise, you'll be tired and that kills momentum.
6. Everyone you live with needs to know you're doing this, otherwise you'll get "pop-ins" which can cause stalls.
7. If you get stuck? The problem is always before what you've written.
8. Don't try to maintain 10k a day for too long, I've known writers who ended up in the hospital because they overdid it.
9. If listening to music while you write is your style, try to avoid music with lyrics. It's a trick for long distance runners, but it works for writers as well to maintain pace.
10. Don't worry about Kirkney, it'll be done when it's done, there's no deadline.
Remember to give affection to your pets, they're a hit of dopamine without needing the internet. :)
I'm deeply sorry regarding all the ordeals you had to endure too. And it may probably sound out of place, but I'm actually very glad that all the support you rightfully received managed to keep you afloat. It's truly heartwarming. Be sure that all that support won't be weakened any time soon!
And regarding the pace you want to reach, while I admit it to be quite noble, I must say I'm quite concerned about the impacts on your health. Even though I have trust that you'll be alright, never forget that your physical and mental health are much more important. Don't hesitate to take as much breaks as possible. Don't hesitate to slow down a little if you feel it. Don't hesitate to distract yourself from time to time, and also relaxing yourself (preferably with a nice hot cup of tea and some pastries in my humble opinion). But above anything else, be okay. Alright?
But honestly and sincerely, keep doing wonders, keep moving mountains to achieve your goals (both literally and figuratively), keep going forward and towards the brightest lights.
And as for us, we'll always keep giving you all the time, all the backup and all the support you'll need to achieve all the masterpieces only you has the ability to create.
Thank you. Sincerely.
Take care Sir Renard. And see you later on the next story!
