Sally went to the market with her little brother little Jimmy. Sally currently has $30.50 on her given from her parents to buy produce from the market. She had to buy pumpkins, apples and pears for a few dishes her mom was gonna make. Any extra money left they can buy whatever they wanted. She took half of the $30.50 and split it with her little brother to help her buy the produce, $15.25 each. Sally bought the pumpkins and the pears. The pumpkins cost $5 while the pears cost $3, leaving her with $7.25 left. Little Jimmy was in charge of buying the apples which cost around $8 a bag that left him with $7.25 left as well. Both met up and combined their remaining money left which totaled to $14.50. Both of them bought two bags of cotton candy and were left with $3 afterwards. They spent the last $3 on bottles of water. How much did the bags of cotton candy cost?

A bit of a stretch but it's either $2.25 for the bag of cotton candy or $5.25 for it. I have to subtract $14.50 with $3 to make it $10.50 and then divided by 2. I'll show the math. Feel free to say I'm wrong

$30.50 at the start.

$15.25 split between both siblings which is half of $30.50.

Produce from each: $8 which left them with $7.25 each.

Both reunited and combined the money together to total $14.50

They went to buy 2 bags of cotton candy, but also bottles of water with the water using up the remaining of the $3 which leaves the mystery of how much the cotton candy cost.
Subtract $3 from $14.50 which is $11.50 total that they spent on the bags of cotton candy.

Each bag was $5.75.
