question on furrsuits
General
So, I was doing some redecorating the other day, and I found some stuff I was using to make a furrsuit awhile back. Never finished it, but it got me thinking again about making a Persia suit.
The Problem is that she has a very humanoid face, rather then a more standard furry nose.
So, asking some experts on this, how would you make Persia as a furrsuit?

No but seriously I'd start compiling a "mood board" of bun fursuit heads (there's a ton of images you can find via internet search engines) and circling what parts you like and crossing out things don't like and want to avoid.
Like, maybe you like the nose shaping of one pursuit head, but dislike the cheek angles/width of another, and you basically build a general concept of what you want to go for. Then you can work out how the shaping underneath would look from there.
Sure, you have a non-standard style, but you can still use references!
Oh and speaking of styles, I'd recommend looking into kigurumi fursuits for inspiration - they're made from custom-made masks, unlike traditional western/toony fursuit foam heads, and are often covered in a soft velvet cloth material as opposed to faux fur.
Hope any of my suggestions/advice helps! Seriously, fursuiting is such a gender affirming experience that for a moment makes you forget you're just a boring human and I hope you get to experience it through the eyes of your own characters. ❤️
And yeah, I saw the kigurumi head shape would work for Persia, though I'm more curious on things like the vision and what not, as well as things like her teeth and lip. Another thing I'm not fully sure on is how to make her body. Stuff like her butt and thighs especially. The breasts are another thing, but I think I've got a much more clearer idea for those. The main one for me is definitely her butt. How would you make that without it being too heavy to move around, or be able to walk?
Vision will always be impacted in some manner or way, you gotta accept that. For kigurumi fursuits you'll need to get a paintable mesh material for the eyes and do rough papekura/cardboard mockups to see what your sight capacity will be like.
As for the extra padding, I strongly recommend that once you get a friend to help you make your cling wrap duct tape dummy (use two long broom handles to hold your arms up and out, and make sure to use a permanent marker to draw a cutting line with Xs dotted along the line to make it easier to align the dummy when you re-assemble and stuff it) that you start thinking about straps and belts to have removable padding (think "pillows" and "fanny packs"). You really don't want to include the padding in the suit itself as it will eventually lose its fluff and get sad and saggy, and will be (almost) impossible to clean. Once you've made your removable padding, you can strap it onto the duct tape dummy and make a pattern around that.
Movement shouldn't be too much of an issue so long as you keep the padding on the outside of your legs. The bigger the feetpawbs, the more awkward it will be, though. Weight won't be more than, say, a bed quilt or two (at most) - depending on how much padding you use, of course. But because it'll be strapped close to you, you'll feel it mostly in your feet (and ankles at worst).
And as always, trust the process ❤️
I think the next problem is trying to find a suiter that could make her, and the price. I'm not too familiar with suit making myself, so would rather have someone more experienced with the craft to make it. Where's a good place to look for suit makers?
A full padded custom fursuit can easily cost up to - and beyond - 6 grand (as mine was). Small used car territory, basically. Some fursuit makers may offer a payment plan to make it more possible!
As for finding a maker:
1: search local first, seriously SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS (ask around local furry chat groups, furry classifieds, Facebook - I know ugh - furry pages, etc) and throw out an open request that you want to get a fursuit
2: make it clear you're looking for a maker who can do a hyper-exaggerated curvaceous padded fursuit in your advertisement post
3: if you can't find anyone local, ask the hyperfur fursuiters who made their fursuits (except me lmao, my fursuit maker did it as an experiment)
(for reference, AeroTransor Fursuits made Fiona Maray's fursuit, FantasticallyPlush made a few hyper fursuits IIRC, and BNCreation made Zuelansi's big busty doggo)
If a second hand small car is too much of a financial plunge, I recommend getting a partial to start off with (head and forepaws, plus sometimes a tail and arm sleeves) so you can focus on putting money towards nice fancy clothing and funnily enough, yes, a fatsuit (if you're skinny as a rake irl, gosh how I wish I had real curves).
Oh and also ASK FOR BIG CHUNKY ZIPPERS because small zippers may sound like a good idea for stealth factor, but they get lost in the fluff and break super easily.
Also, finally, make sure you wash your fursuit at least once every year. Fursuit sprays are only anti-bacterial between each performance. They will not remove the actual gunk.
SORRY IF THIS IS A BIT TL;DR BUT THERE'S A FAIR BIT THAT YOU LEARN LMAO
