If the internet gets censored I can't do much about that

So I personally like to avoid talking about politics because it's really stupid, but yeah our dumbass boomer politicians all over the world are complete morons, doesn't matter which side they're on either they're all morons, and I get the feeling what I do for my career is probably going to be majorly affected by this. Basically if there's nowhere to post my work to I can't do much about that. I'm sure Furaffinity and the other sites I regularly post to won't be affected first, but like the people who run e621 said they can't afford the infrastructure to age verify all of their visitors and they wouldn't want to either because they know it's dangerous to handle people's personal information like that. I doubt any site I post to aside from X/Twitter can do age verification and I sure as heck am not giving X my ID if they force that on everyone.
My state, Texas, also has a law that's going to be enforced early next year that might make it impossible to visit any of these sites because of this law. Thankfully it's being challenged as it's most definitely violating the first amendment. If it stays in effect though I'm pretty screwed, but I guess I can take some solace in the fact that everyone is going to be screwed as well because every country is implementing these dumbass laws.
Anyway I'll do what I can for as long as I can. Worst case scenario I'll just make art for myself until every country has a revolution to overthrown their incompetent boomer dictators and things finally get uncensored 5 to 10 years down the road. Joking aside yeah this sucks and it's happening so fast. Thankfully I'm still very passionate about my art, so setbacks like these won't keep me from making my art. I just might not be able to share it with you all until these idiots realize they done fucked up.
Anyway have a good day and enjoy the fire while I play my fiddle.

I highly recommend getting a VPN, can't use the internet without one these days

OP
I'm considering it, but if every country implements these laws there won't be much use for VPNs if there's no country that doesn't have these laws. Though I'm sure some countries aren't complete dumbasses and realize how bad these laws are. So maybe there will be a safe haven country to route through for VPNs.

Problem is some jurisdictions are wanting to ban VPNs as well. Wisconsin has a law proposed at the moment,

More people are fighting back against it which is good. Of course the boomers in charge don't like this and are doubling down on these policies and making them even worse in some cases.

OP
The worse they make them the quicker they'll get booted out of office. I mean prohibition was an amendment was repealed fairly quickly because it caused more trouble to ban drinking than it solved, so I'm hoping this is a similar situation which gets resolved fairly quickly as well. The problem is that these laws are being implemented all over the world, so that'll be much harder to reverse. Still I have faith the people will really put the pressure on hard when they feel the effects of these laws.

Yeah, I'm hoping so. The more people speaking out against this the better, and knowing how censorship goes the ones calling for it will eventually get censored and only then will they realize it's bad. In most cases at least, there will be a few who are too prideful and arrogant to ever admit they're wrong.

Thankfully most of the boomer politicians who are pushing for this are on their way out, and will hopefully be replaced with more internet savvy ones eventually as well. Though I think we've got a couple rough years ahead until they do get replaced. Even then I still won't trust the new politicians to have our backs in this regard either.

Oh yeah for sure, some younger politicians still keep the same authoritarian mindset. JD Vance is a Millennial and he's called for banning porn in the past. I hope most of the younger politicians in the future will be more freedom-oriented and will undo all this censorship and codify protections against possible future censorship.

Australia just began its social media ban yesterday. And they intend to do the sams to "adult websites" in early March (So, FA, e6, Rule34, etc.). It legit feels violating to have to go through these dumbass checkpoints just to use the internet.

Yep, and they don't realize this will just redirect everyone to less safe websites that they don't know exist and can't enforce their control over. This whole "for the children" BS will actually endanger children even more. Not to mention people who comply with age verification are going to put their identities at risk by doing so as well.

I guess I should watch the news. I doubt this will go through with hacking being such a danger. We will just have to see what happens.
