Linda, Steffie and I like to thank people on their home pages for faves and watches (unless that person specifically states not to), but we don't really have a real preference as to how people thank us. Whatever works for them.

Hmm.. I'd have to agree with Zeddxvash... Gives me the feel that I've been noticed and not jsut some random face you either Ignore or don't have enough intrest in to poke too often. THough the Journal thanks are alittle inpersonal but when ya don't have that kind've time ya just don't have the time. *nod nod*

I tend to give those thanks myself. Since I don't have many watchers and messages, it's easier to do. As you get more popular, there tend to be far too many to respond to, so it's understood if you only reply to choice comments.

If you choose not to reply though, I don't think anyone would hold it against you. Replying does make a person feel more appreciated though.

Not really, it just seems mechanical and impersonal and like something most people only do to get more views. The best thanks is getting a comment back on something, I think... otherwise, "thanks for the fav/comment/watch" just seems like they're treating you as just another random admirer rather than a fellow artist.
