We interrupt this website to bring you this special announcement
Another year of cons in the books! Hard to believe that this was my sixth MFF, and third with a room in the Hyatt. The drive up on Thursday was smooth sailing, with only a couple of traffic blips north of Indianapolis along the way.
Niqnaq and Luco were waiting for me at check-in, and I handed them room cards as soon as I got them.
Sultz_Z._Wolf would arrive a few hours later, and I would help him carry things up to the room. Niqnaq and I chose to brave the reg line together that evening, which went fairly smoothly; even at the height of the evening rush we got through in 45 minutes, a vast improvement over the hours it's taken in the past. I opted not to fullsuit that evening, and instead partialed around for a while, running into
Alex_the_horse among others.
I opted to fullsuit early on Friday, while the lighting was still good. You may have spied me running around in SumDingo's timelapse video among other places. After desuiting I hit up a couple of different room parties as well as the buffet before popping into the dance to catch
Sylox's very high energy set to close out the night.
Saturday would turn out to be a very mixed bag. On the bright side, my Your Furry Origin Story panel went great; attendance was a little thin at first due to the 11AM start time, but it filled out over the course of the panel and so many folks shared wonderful stories. After that, though... I have really bad allergies, for which I have been getting immunotherapy to help combat. However, I still have flare ups now and then, and one of them hit me hard Saturday afternoon. My plans to peruse the Dealer's Den and Artist's Alley and hang out with other friends went out the window as I ended up spending most of the day in bed. At least there was football on TV , and the issues passed eventually, but I wasn't able to get out and really enjoy the con until almost 10PM. I made up for it by spending the next few hours suiting, though, and had a wonderful chat with
keovi in the snow late that night.
Sunday more than made up for Saturday. I started off the day at the fox meet, where I got to hang out with
KenjiFox1230,
Fender and
Yummers, among many other vulpine friends. That was immediately followed by the Furries in Jerseys meet, where I got to see many other good fluffs. After desuiting and grabbing lunch, I hung out with the ever so sweet
tofte, which ended up running through dinner and then some. I finished my night with one last hurrah in suit before retiring to get ready to check out in the morning.
I had planned to head downtown to do some sightseeing (and possibly fursuiting) on Monday after checkout, but exhaustion had caught up with me. Anything more than just driving home seemed like a bad idea, so I ended up just starting the trek back to Ohio. It's probably good that I did; I'm finally feeling more like myself today, but I've been dragging badly all week. I'll just have to be sure to go next year.
Overall, this was a very up and down MFF; ultimately, though, the highs outweighed the lows and made the trip 1000% worth it. In my con rankings, this one falls somewhere on the lower end of the top ten. I'll be hopefully around for a few local meets as we close out 2025 and start into 2026, and I'll be looking forward to hitting up MCFC in February as my next convention. See you on the road!
