Laid off. Fired. Pink slip.

Happened last week. The idea never ever crossed my mind until they actually told me what was happening. Don't always assume you have job security, I guess. For now, I've just been trying to get over the shock that's been hitting me slowly.

They told me specifically that it was the company's budget, not my performance, that led to this. Gave me a pretty nice amount of severance and even encouraged me to reapply as soon as any positions become available.

I am NOT opening commissions just yet, nor am I opening any Patreon or Kofi thing. You've seen how I've been slowing lately and I don't want to take your money while I'm down in recovery mode. My apologies. Thankfully I got the severance as well as savings to keep me afloat a good while. I was and am now truly lucky.

Lucky now because I have you all who enjoy my art. If you've been here from my humble beginning, if my latest post is the first you've seen of me, and everyone else from anywhere in between. Every comment, like, favorite, repost, comment, and even just view is like coal to the furnace of my heart. Probably unhealthy to be dependent on internet validation, but I also want to have sex with bombs, so maybe my self-preservation instincts have just always been fried.

At this point, I would like to ask something if you have the time. Completely optional. Please leave a comment on any of my pictures. Be it just which one is your favorite, an OLD ART you'd like to see redrawn, criticism of how I can improve, emojis, and even memes. I feel the temptation to get a bit drunk off virtual good boy points. If you just wish to send well wishes commenting on this journal, that will still be greatly appreciated.
