hallo fuzzies!

i just wanted to update here for those who aren't in my discord server or following me on bsky

i've been sick for the better part of a month. my partner caught something like a week before thanksgiving and gave it to me (inevitable because we live together) and i was sick at home through thanksgiving and afterward. it stuck around for a bit and then JUST as i thought it was finally gone for both of us......my partner got hit again, and then i got it about a week later. we're not sure if it's a recurrence of the same thing or something new, but i'm leaning toward something new since the first round didn't have a fever and this one does. but...i went to urgent care yesterday (because neither of us could get appts with our actual doctor, yay US healthcare) and they ran tests and i have covid..... >.<

i'm so mad. i try so hard not to get it and i hate knowing it could be doing long-term damage to my body systems that i don't even know about. mad.

luckily i work from home and don't go many places, and when i DO go places i still wear a mask usually, so hopefully i've mitigated the spread on my part a little. but it also means that's what my partner had, and he's been going to work because when *he* went to urgent care a week earlier, that doctor didn't run any tests and just gave him antibiotics...... -.-

SO ANYWAY. i'm home sick. i can't sleep because i'm so congested i can't breathe through my nose, but i'm still trying to rest as much as i can (around the sneezing and the boredom and the coughing....). i'm doing tiny streams to chip away at work because i'm behind from being sick for long now, but rest is important so heads up that i'll unfortunately continue to be slow...

i guess that's it for now, just wanted to update. i'm so damn tired of being sick....
