Commissions and Invoicing Update | Going full time art!
General
As of last last October, I dropped the side hustles as they were no longer profitable, and doubled down on my art.
In the passed, I sent out invoices for each project as I began them. This was to both build good faith with my customers, and to build up my own trust in myself.
I can vouch for it working on myself, as over time I've gained confidence in that if I can get the work, I can and will do the work. I hope that by now I have built up some good faith with you as well!
Currently, I am going all in on doing commissions full time. The first couple months of 2026 will be my sink or swim time and I'll have to make a small adjustment to my business model accordingly. At my current pace, I can complete up to 4-5 projects a month depending on their scale and complexity. More if they were all quite small.
The new policy will be to collect invoice payments within the first two weeks of each month, or as soon as possible for commissions accepted in the last two weeks of the month, to ensure I stay ahead of bills and to help simplify bookkeeping.
I'd like to give a thank you shout out to Bobnbob71, Dahwchooa , Furwanker , and Silverfang for commissioning me so soon after my going full time to get me started and keep me afloat going into January.
I would also like to thank many of those return customers who I've been completing commissions for over the past 12 years such as Akeroh, Anrax, Basilsanguine, GrayHyPolf, Sherrwoods, Screamingphoenix and Shorty. Their repeat business has built my confidence and kept me in the game to get where I am today! I am also grateful to those who only commissioned me once during their characters journey!
It would be unrealistic to ask, let alone expect, any one person to commission me every month. There's other artists you'd like to share your business with, and "life happens" every day!
But if 48 different people commissioned me once a year, well I'd really be getting somewhere! Similar could be said for having 100 subscribers on SubStar or Patreon, which would equate to 1 commission a month worth of income if they were all the lowest tier.
Speaking of Patreon and Subscribe star, the current modest number of members have been a huge help as well! That's paid for a mix of study material that were immediately used for commissions and subscriber projects in times of plenty, and smaller bills or groceries during the tight months. If you don't want to commission me, but would still like to assist in helping me stay in full time art, that's a great way to go. It all goes to improving my work and other living essentials. One member has remained with me since 2020 and remained with a few others finding me there as early as 2022. I hope those that have joined me more recently and seen my latest art direction both find it worth their donation, and get to enjoy the prosperity that would allow them to continue their support. Some have come and gone since then, and their one time tips were still both welcome and useful!
If you wish to commission me, but don't have an idea, I have a couple possible solutions!
- Immediately available, is the offer to reach out to me for brainstorming ideas, or giving me a character to draw with some or full creative liberty. That sounds like two ideas, but I'm going to talk with you a least a little to make sure I take the character in a direction you enjoy either way.
- Coming soon, will be a variety of YCH's to choose from as well! I've seen others posting individual YCH pictures, as well as sheets with many ideas on them to buy, while updating the picture to cross off those that have been purchased. I think I may do the later for the sake of organizing themes, even though it may result in them getting less traffic for not being posted often.
My current plan is to use my usual warm up doodle time, thumb nails, and weekend drawing, to come up with YCH's, while current paid work will be worked on during my regular business hours throughout the week.

Can vouch that Wolfy is awesome to work with, and does a great job of sending out updates/WIP’s! I have no doubt I will commission them again in the future!
Thank you kindly, I'll be looking forward to it!
