Surgical success and the return of wolves!

General
TLDR = Surgery success. Hiatus while Erin moves. WJ will return on 7th January, probably with multiple updates. See you in the New Year!
Wolf's Journey website will be down from this weekend until the 5th January.

Surgery = Success!
Thank you everyone who sent good vibes, prayers or that voodoo that you do <3 Surgery was genuinely as wildly successful as anyone could have wished \o/ I'm so happy.
(I'm hecking sleep deprived today, so please forgive any spelling glitches or general Bzzt!)
Recovery has been crazy. From two days after the surgery, it was amazingly obvious that THIS was the surgery I have so clearly needed for a long, long time. From 4 days in, I was able to walk without my stick and do things I haven't been able to do unassisted for years. I have more Spoons in one day now than I used to have in a whole week. I have experienced whole days with NO pain, and I cannot remember a time that has ever happened. My hands stopped shaking. I could feel my feet. My eyes started working consistently!!
Not that it was always consistent. Around week 3 my body forcefully reminded me that I had a gorram hole in my head, and it was time to sit down and take my heckin' painkillers while healing happened. But I'm not at all complaining :)
The surgeons told me that 'by week 6 you can return to your usual level of activity.' To which I can only only say 'PFFFFT, you'll have to catch me to slow me down!' ;)
So, I've done my best to be good.. but even being good, wolves have happened ^.^ Because that's what wolves do. (I assume this is happens for everyone.)
Just in time for....

Erin is moving! WJ returns in Jan
Erin is moving State so her internet is going to be spotty as heck over Christmas and New Year. So we're going to keep WJ paused until the 7th of January, when we'll be swinging back in.
I've already got a couple of pages solidly in the buffer and more coming, so we may even catch up with some multi-page posts <3

Nothing left to say but ...
Thank you everyone who has popped in on my little corner of the furry internet before now, and everyone who might swing by in future :) I hope you have a fantastic midwinter, however you celebrate it, and that the New Year is filled with promise that will come good in time <3 We are all enduring some darkness in the moment, but as they say - Spring will come again.
And in the meantime, I treasure the little lights we share <3 Stay awesome folks. See you in 2026!

Also, fun fact, I recently learnt of a new way to describe energy other than spoons! Does require you to be a nerd for it to make sense tho, heh. You compare them to spells from D&D! Some things you can do infinitely (cantrips) and some are limited (spell slots), and you can always upcast (i.e. use a 3rd level slot on a 1st level spell), but never downcast. And the layout of spells is based on the individual, so to one person laundry might be a cantrip, but to another it might be a 5th level spell. If you are nerdy enough to understand it, it's a beautiful way to explain why some people can or can't do actions that seem so simple to others. We just have different spell layouts and spell slot amounts!
But yes, anyway, happy holidays to both of you and all your loved ones, and I hope to see a happy and healthy (and well-rested and well-healed) return in the new year! <3
So pleased that it went well! Very best wishes for the rest of the recovery. (Please do pace yourself. It's super important that you get all the way better!)
