Trump's long rumored plan for large scale homeless camps seems to finally be bearing fruit. A camp a few miles outside of Salt Lake City Utah can presently hold around 12-1600 people, and could certainly be expanded to hold many more.
It's miles away from transportation, jobs, and assistance. some people there would be held against their will, essentially making it a prison.
-Out of sight, out of mind, I suppose. Who cares about the houseless population anyway? It's their fault. Just sweep them off the streets! It's so simple!
Governor Spencer Cox was quoted in The New York Times as saying Utah’s proposed partially involuntary homeless shelter is “a statement of who we are as a state,”
Since then Cox rejected comparisons of the Utah homeless shelter to a Nazi concentration camp. He also called the proposal the most compassionate homeless policy in the country, and said he hopes the federal government can cover funding for the expensive project. He recommitted to the state’s novel proposal to solve chronic homelessness by investing upwards of $100 million in the 30 acre “Central campus” near the Salt Lake City Airport.
Cox called funding for the site his “top priority” for the 2026 legislative session during a housing conference at the University of Utah.
-Yet more fascist shit.

FA+

This is all about cruelty and ignorance. The only proven solution for houselessness is housing people first. Anything else is complete BS.
