Happy New Years!!

Figured everyone else is doing one! Wow, what a year ill say, and where the heck did it go! 2025 is over? What happened to Christmas! Ya I'm one of those annoying dergs that has a Christmas countdown clock in his room and mmmmaaaayyyy tell my co-workers how many days are left, now and again!
ANYWAYS! I guess some cool things I did in 2025 that I can't complain too much about! One big hit was finally... FINALLY paying off a 5-year loan to now own my tractor. Can finally have some breathing room in my checks and fingers cross more art! That was a pretty long commitment, 20,000$, 320$ a month, never missed one payment, so that was pretty cool!
I have also started to teach myself how to draw! Still suck at it, but hey, you've got to start somewhere! Learning about thinking things 3d, how arms and legs connect to each other, etc., I REALLY want to learn how to draw. I have always given up in the pass but something about this time seems to be working. I can't take all the credit, though, a few of my artist besties, such as
Inukuroo and
thecommonercomet give me some great advice and techniques! My imagination is such a huge thing for me; music, media, stories, etc., just make my brain turn. I can imagine such wonderful adventures filled with action or romance, or whatever! I want to bring it to life, and I will, this year, I will definitely be drawing more, learning more, right now, just basic little pages of random crap every night. Anything helps, especially because of this quote: "It gets easier. Every day it gets a little easier. But you gotta do it every day — that's the hard part. But it does get easier".
One more big note, I swear! Do you ever remember when you were a kid, and people would ask, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" You gave yourself an answer: doctor, astronaut, police officer, etc. I was one of those as well, can't remember that answer, but not the point! The point is, I know the answer for me:
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
Free.
I have figured out exactly what I want in my life to the very end. I want to be free. What does that mean? I want to not work as much for a job that, honestly, deep down I couldn't care less about, and well would replace me in a heartbeat if needed. Working Monday-Friday (occasionally Sundays) from 8 am-6 pm every single week. Having so little time to myself, exhausted and mentally tired from dealing with coworkers, bosses, and customers 50-55 hours a week. What I want to have, even if I have to do part-time forever, is to have more time for myself, do what I want or love. I just want to be more self-sustained, grow my own food, collect my own water, create my own power, you get my point! Been thinking if I ever get good MAYBE sell art, but maybe not, keeping it to myself only. Or learning how to build small sheds and sell those, that was fun, building. I don't want to reach the end of my life and know I wasted it for a company that didn't care what I gave to them. I want to reach the end of my story with a smile and skip in my step, knowing I didn't waste my life. Be... free, dragons were never meant to live in chains... instead were always meant to fly!
Fly, my children, break those chains they have on you, figure out what you want to do, and start working on it, no matter how small. Like a single page of random sketches in ramdoness a night for 5mins to an hour. Remember, you only have one chance, one book, make it a dam good one. When your time is done, make sure when you look back at that book, you close it with a smile.
Thats all my lovelies! Have a happy New Year, see you in 2026!!!!! LET GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

A lovely read and I find the desire to be free quite relatable. Hope you have a great new year.
