I've made a number of new characters in the last couple months so I feel like just sitting down and gushing about / explaining them for a while n.n They're my dolls, I can do what I what!
Cerine "Auri" Aurivel
Golden Snow Leopard
Oh yay, I'm starting with the hardest one to talk about XD Literally when I was writing my notes for the Chelios sci-fi stories, I wrote paragraphs and paragraphs about Zevah in particular and Ciri and Tallis, but when it came to Auri I just wrote "fluffy titty kitty I don't know what to put here" XD And that's largely why Zevah has been the showstealer in those stories and Auri is treated more like a supporting character to HER.
Auri (and I call her Auri 99% of the time to avoid name confusion) is my new me, a true sona of sorts, which makes it really difficult to pin her down as a character. That's why her name is also Cerine, because Cerine is MY name as much as it is the fox's name, so I could hardly make a new sona with a different name XD And it's less "there's things about her" and more "there's things I want to to with / express through her" and I marked this journal as General so that's as detailed as THAT goes >.>
Fox-Cerine is not like me very much at all, she's not my height, nor do I have white hair (yet), and she can definitely be MORE grumpy than me a lot of the time XD It's more like I swing back and forth between depressed weenie and playful goober a lot, and Auri's the goober. n.n And I just think snow leopard matches my personality a lot, slightly more than fox does.
Zevah "Zev"
Big Beefy Blue-collar Lioness
Zevah has been an absolute treat for me, because she wound up being so fun and exciting to write for! Her personality is half being this gigantic, beautiful, irrepressible soul that's always wearing this big, toothy smile and quick to extend an encouraging word or a helping hand to everyone around her, and half being a fragile glass sculpture that feels so much undercutting self-doubt about who she is "supposed" to be versus what she wants for herself, and the struggle between those two elements makes her feel so real. She's also been a delight to write opposite my synth Ciri, who is ALSO really fun to write, because they play off each other very well and their friendly chemistry practically wrote itself.
In a sense, I think Zevah is like Zaress 2.0 for me, where she fills a lot of the same role and archetype (and body shape XD) that Zaress did but is definitely for one a lot friendlier, and I felt like I made several missteps in characterizing Zaress that wound up making situations involving her weird, and I discussed a lot of that in A Beneficial Arrangement.
Jasper
Snow Leopard Gentleman Thief (of Hearts) (and Rich People's Stuff)
You know, I'm looking back at my notes I wrote for Jasper and I see I wanted him to have glasses, but that got forgotten almost immediately, I guess XD I think I'm at characters-with-glasses saturation now anyways, between Cerine, Auri, Gray, and Verity. He DID have goggles in White and Gold so I guess that was where wires got crossed.
So I created Jasper because 1) I have snow leopard brainrot and 2) I- *glances at G rating* -uh, he's into stuff my other male OCs aren't 😇 and 3) Auri's a snow leopard >.>; He's a very, very sweet person, always feels very sincere, but because of his "career" he can be very cagey when talking about himself or being vulnerable with people. In White and Gold I made it obvious he's a burglar since that was a high fantasy setting, but I played it a lot more coy in What She Likes since he was visiting a woman he barely knew.
Verity
Frisky Red Wolf Mom
So Verity began existing like three or four days ago XD The concept for a chubby mom came first and when I remembered I had Mama in my back pocket I decided to make her Mama's younger and more free-spirited sister. Ironically, when Mama was young she was very rebellious and uninhibited, but getting pregnant early sent her on a completely different trajectory. Verity is 7 years younger than Mama, and their parents raised her with a softer paw, giving her more latitude to express herself. She had her son a lot later in life, comparatively, and she now is trying to find a balance between being a mom and her romantic side. And not for nothin' but Verity's also the sort who might stumble on Foxtonic's network page and get excited by the possibilities by lots of different potions >.>

But essentially she's got bulky muscle with a healthy padded frame. Both big and soft, with a flat tum instead of abs (maybe just a touch of belly fat). She's also just about as flat as a board XD
