Moving from After effects to Blender
General
I'm tired of AE, just like Mike (The animator who creates all the polished animations on my page)
So, for the last couple of days, I've been working on a script that auto-generates a mesh from a transparent PNG. I've succeeded!
AE pre-rendering sometimes takes 30 minutes just to see the entire animation when you move just one bone/mesh/object. This is so stupid.... Why are the untouched parts re-rendered too? I feel sorry for all the motion designers who've ever had to deal with AE...
Perhaps I'll eventually create a course on 2D animation in Blender, because the other programs I've considered lack one or two essential features, while Blender has almost everything I need
Spine2D - lacks convenient clipping layers (you have to MANUALLY create a mask from polygons)
Live2D - lacks incredibly important IK bones, constraints, and drivers
After Effects - incredibly slow and unoptimized, even with plenty of memory on your computer.
To sum it up... Animations will be faster, better quality, and... that's all. I can finally be happy, because even though I'm not an animator and very rarely animate in AE, this problem really bothered me
