[DISCORD] I was expecting this to happen.

So Discord announced a change that is going to be put into effect globally, next month. The dreaded mandatory age verification to access sensitive content, including adult content.
So, starting next month, everyone's accounts will be set as teen-aged, or something like that, with automatic restrictions on what you can see and where you can chat.
I was already expecting something like this to happen. Enshittification follows this kind of rule, in that they implement features and mechanisms that will drive people away. But something like this is a lot more serious, even when or not taking the context of enshittification: Not only does it mean third-party companies get to see who you really are, not only does it mean your real information can be leaked out, but your government can know what you are online. This is truly horrendous if your country's government isn't exactly friendly towards LGBT, for instance.
This was expected to me, since they've announced Discord went IPO.
If the worst comes to pass, I'll move to be more active on Telegram. I also have an account on a Discord alternative named Root - have had one since the Closed Beta.
