if you abandon it discord's more likely to go through with their stupid id verification ideas anyways. give the people behind discord hell and tell them how much you don't want it, call them directly, force them to listen, just, protest them.

I agree with Eee, that and I heard that some of stoat’s security on their back end is slightly lacking, so approach stoat with a bit of caution if you do decide to go that route.

Heyo! I don't have a Stoat server yet but I'm part of a French furry VN server who is currently setting up a Stoat server to replace the Discord. (No matter the protests it's likely they just go with this stupid age verification method so we prefer to anticipate instead of just having to switch at the last minute)

Regarding interface it's very similar to Discord, kinda like Bluesky has interface similar to Twitter. It has features that are still missing, most notably video/screensharing, or role atrribution that is more clunky. It seems like there are so many people moving to Stoat they've also had a bit of a trouble to keep things running lately, but they've been quick to replace things so far. The server is not open yet but I can send you the link when we have it!
