I’m alive! Barely lol
My health decided to once again take a nosedive, as it so often likes to do!
I was suffering from daily, debilitating migraines that had completely knocked me out of commission. Brought it up with my doctor and we tried a couple of medications, which of course only made me more sick and didn't help the migraines at all, then had to fight with my insurance a bit over trying to get an alternative treatment. In the meantime I tried some different over the counter medications only to find that Sudafed was the ONLY thing that affected them.
Mentioned my discovery to my doctor and we realized the source may be sinus-related.
She had me referred to an ENT (ear, throat, and nose doctor) to get a scope done, or well i was going to get a scope done but they couldn't even get the scope in my nose because it turns out i have a severely deviated septum.
The specialist said that surgery was the only actual option but given my medical record I was a little hesitant. We instead decided to focus on sinus maintenance , so I’ve been doing these daily nasal rinses and got prescribed a nose spray to help keep things clear.
On top of all of this I opted to get some allergy testing done so I could get some more specialized treatment, only to find out that i was allergic to 31 of the 35 things they tested me for. Also holy cow, so many needles, I’m so done with needles at this point. The doctor said they were pretty sure my severe allergies were most likely why I was getting so many migraines.
I’ll be starting allergy injections next week, and I got myself a nice little EpiPen just in case, since apparently we’re pumping me full of the things I’m allergic to and there’s a high risk of anaphylactic shock! ( joy! ) I was also actually supposed to start this week but I ended up catching covid and that took me out for a bit. Life really doesn’t want me to catch a break!
Still working on trying to get in with a hematologist for the weird bloodwork but all this stupid nasal stuff kind of took priority. Will update in probably another month when something else comes up lol!
