Furry Websites?

General
I’m wondering what the current furry hotspot sites are, is it still FA?
No plans on leaving of course but I’m curious what the watchers and commissioners use?
I’d love any thoughts and opinions on the matter!
Also, As a bonus question.. are Pokémon characters still no longer as popular? I feel like they are, hoping to see that change with Gen 10?!

FA+

I mean, FurAffinity is still the most established and largest, most popular.. even with artists using other platforms like X, BlueSky, DA, Patreon, KoFi, etc.
For me, FA is still my primary place, with occasionally looking at Bluesky. I post to FA, sofurry, inkbunny, mastodon, itaku, and Bluesky when it works.
Some people are saying SoFurry but it has been been back for months now and is still seeing sub-Weasyl numbers. Not holding my breath there.
"But what about e6?" I hear some future commenter ask, to which I say "What about e6?"
Yeah I feel like E621 has been trying more for wanting artists to post on it, but I still think it can't escape its "Just go there to jerk it and leave" status.
e6 has a "community" of a sort, but it is full of people who couldn't figure out basic comment etiquette and so admins gave up trying to enforce it. Not a pleasant place to be.
Some of my work posted there by others (I don't really mind as long as it isn't edited or unsourced) gained some amazingly reductive comments criticizing the choice of pronouns I used or something else sociopolitical and superficial they specifically took offense with (which I did mind). The community of E6 is a lot more raucous and less interested in being an inviting community, more interested in backbiting, tag wars, and jerkin' it to what pleases 'em in a crowd, to my experience. My only use for it is as an archive if some fur's art vanishes from elsewhere, or is only found on Xhitter, BlueSky, or a Discord or TG server.
Currently I mostly just post to FA, DA, Twitter, Bluesky, and Discord. I used to do the others but SoFurry would slow me down due to the very small space for adding tags and that commas had to be included and added manually. However, InkBunny would add commas automatically. I tried PostyBirb, but the similar issues with tagging slowed me down too much.
So ideally to maximize the best use of all the sites due to the frustrating tagging systems and copying+pasting the tags, it goes FA>IB>SF and then DA's 30 tag limit. However, despite all of that I've only ever received commissions from specifically FA and occasionally Discord. For whatever reason my art just does not click for people on the others.
Its much easier to curate your own page and visibility on these platforms than it is on FA or DA or any of the other art sites unfortunately.
FA is still the primary for furry art, but its fallen pretty far from the throne in terms of use and popularity in comparison to twitter.
i see e621 more like a gateway site for my actual twitter and FA pages because of the huge traffic too
FA is probably always gonna be THE site anyway and always good to have as a backup because it's am actual art gallery (as fucking mind numbing the uploading experience is)
inkbunny is probably a close second but i can understand why some people would steer away from it. i'd make an inkbunny but i'm already too lazy to upload stuff to FA in a timely manner, so having yet another place is out of the question for me lmao
finally, imho the other sites (weasyl, sofurry, itaku, etc) are copium
6e helps to archive and get traction of ppl interested in your furry stuff. Pokemon are still pretty popular there.
I dunno about IB, I avoid it for many reasons.
Itaku works amazing, but it seems like a leftover site where people posts only thanks to Postybirb.
Then you have social media like Twitter, not good as a gallery but if you train the algo by posting the same character/topic it can help you to get traction and send potential clients to your business contact.
Mastodon/fediverse I feel is the last safehaven for social media platforms for furries to go to, but it is not a gallery site by any means. It does however have healthy artist communities and a reasonable amount of commission work going around and being offered.
As for pokemon... Nintendo keeps shooting themselves in the knee with the decreasing quality of the pokemon games they put out and restricting their platforms to solely the Switch and Switch 2, plus daring to do major reveal promos where they advertise day one dlc which... Yeah lets just say they keep pissing in the fans' cereals but a majority don't care and so they're still huge and will not improve.
How do we dredge them out?.....Garlic bread?
Honestly I am surprised with how often I get new watchers here, I think proper keywords/tags helps a ton
I don't care much for pokemon personally, but you do you~! (I'd like to see some more Digimon or even less commonly seen: Palworld characters!)
e621 isn't really for interacting with a community but I mostly just care about uploading/searching for art.
