Hey look at it this way. You aren't wasting your time in college. You're going to be learning how to engage in debate with lots of people! If you look at this intelligently you'll realize this is basically the best way for things to have turned out. You'll have to defend your thesis against a board of professors someday, being able to argue it in the classroom all the time is a great preparation.

it's just really discouraging and demotivating to be the "devil's advocate" or whatever all the time. i'll be arguing with 70 people about this and while i am just that sure i'm right about this whole thing i feel just .... awful about it; like i really am just being some kind of horrible imperialsit cunt or something. heh.

College is about intelligent discussion. If you, like everyone else, just sit there and nod you head, you are not only wasting your time but ensuring that every single other person wastes theirs.

Even then, his earlier stuff is pretty contrived and basically an empty rip-off of Paul Morrissey/Andy Warhol (things like Chelsea Girls and Lonesome Cowboys are massively better films than shit like Pink Flamingos and Female Trouble)
