I kinda use my submission notifications as a sort of "feed". I'll go back through it every once in a while. I keep around what I like, but I reserved faves for the best of the best. With the notification purge coming up, I'm going to expand my criteria for a fave, so I'll probably be faving a lot. (As a note one of the planned features for my site that is on hold is toggle-able notifications so you could turn off having fave notifications and turn off giving fave notifications)
