General
(All Locations are fictional)
Redhaven, Ohio
Districts of Redhaven:
Old Redhaven - The Original town that the city grew from, Has many historical buildings and tours, even some small shops and businesses. Also home to Redbank University (named after the original settlement). This is also where City hall and other local government buildings reside.
Southpoint - Mostly filled with various tourist spots, shopping centres and restaurants for many to choose from. Popular with the younger generations
Redhaven Heights - A newer developed area, some of the oldheads don’t see it as part of the city. The main populous of the area is younger families, or those with who are starting new jobs.
North Millwick - Rooted in as a Milling town, but has since exploded into business central, various office buildings and warehouses fill the area. Some of the old mills survived as historical landmarks for the city.
Riverview/Greyford - The more suburban/rural areas of the city. Technically being two towns but they share a zip code. There is an actual town border mapped out for the areas but with the whole zip code thing, they are both often viewed as one place.
Lockhaven - Often described as an urban area, it sits along the west most region of the city. Others try to say that it’s a dangerous place to be, but that’s only partially true. The biggest danger that is there is the old and run down buildings, but the residents don’t actually seem to mind them, as the old warehouses and offices are used for graffiti displays or since the buildings are so cheap to purchase, some run their personal businesses out of select buildings.
Ashford, Ohio (Sister City to Redhaven)
Ashford Districts:
Briar Glen - Old Village situated near the wooded areas to the north, majority of the locals have family roots to the area. (Families have been there since about the 1890’s/Early 1900’s)
East Ashford - Main Hub of sorts for the inner city, skyscrapers, office buildings, you name it. Probably the busiest place in all of Ashford
Willow’s Gate - Historic Town Situated in the southwest, includes an old cemetery, old school building and church, and various wooden houses, with the original wood that was used to make them. Mainly just a tourist section of the city
South Ashford - Directly south of East Ashford, this area is full of the smaller businesses, but also the Ashford Mall. The Mall houses various food stops and high end fashion boutiques., it’s got something for everybody!
Stonegate - Essentially a college town, home of Ashford University. You’ll see at least a dozen coffee shops among other things here, the residents here are typically college students or those who are just moving into Ashford.
Ash Landing - The Central Point of Ashford, this is where city hall and all the city government buildings are. As well as some small tourist spots and gift shops.
Lakeshore, Ohio
A fairly decent sized gated town, most who live here are on the higher end of the tax bracket. Though a majority of the community is 40+, there are those on the younger end who manage to coexist well enough. There’s a small council based local government that helps with maintaining the community and a fairly decent school system.
The working population tends to be split between Redhaven and Ashford depending on how far they’re willing to drive for a good salary. Other than that, it’s a fairly quiet town, with the occasional townwide party or five.
Pine Hollow, Ohio
The largest civilized place that is closest to Redhaven, besides Ashford.
Pine Hollow has been adamant on keeping their town status, even though their population is just a little over 2500. The town is comprised of at least 5 different neighborhoods, 2 School districts, 1 central area for shops and businesses and at least 3 public parks.
Not a whole lot goes on within Pine Hollow, but it’s a good place for those wanting a fresh start.
Businesses:
The Red Iron Syndicate (RIS)
The premier fighting league of Redhaven. Situated in the Southpoint area of Redhaven, the RIS gives fighting fans a diverse experience when it comes to shows. Wrestling? They Got it. Boxing? You bet! MMA? Of course!
You never know which one you’re gonna get on any given night, because nothing is ever scripted! Real animosity, real drama and real fighters giving their all in the ring, cage or sometimes even just the bare floor!
Now, due to the nature of the fights the venue is strictly 18+. Reason being things can get quite bloody, but also fights to have a habit of occasionally going sexual. It got to a point that the roster had to sign contracts acknowledging and consenting to these types of things. (Plus, the clothing half the time ends up getting torn to shreds during the fight). The current champion Amara Nakato has been an unstoppable force since getting her title, holding it for almost 7 months now.
She and many others draw a lot of attention to the promotion due to their intensity in every match. But people also come for the atmosphere of the events. Some come to whack it during a fight, others just for the violence. And every so often they have an amateur night with the audience by taking 2 volunteers from the crowd at random points in the night and having them duke it out for a cash prize. Of course, they have to sign waivers first but other than that it can be quite interesting when you see two average joes and janes and anyone in between go at it.
Shows typically happen in Redhaven, but will occasionally go to South Ashford for a few runs to get a larger audience base so people don’t always have to travel too much. The furthest places they’ve been for high paying shows were, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Orlando, New Orleans and Toronto, the audiences there being the most receptive at times.
