DeviantArt - What it's Become...

General
I started my whole furry art gallery on DeviantArt 15 years ago.
5 years ago I decided to stop posting after they changed the old format to Eclipse. I gave Eclipse a try, but there were a few bugs in it at the time which prevented me from browsing more than 6 months into both my gallery and my faves, and it just didn't seem quite as user friendly as the old format.
Despite a lot of people protesting it, the DA admins decided to switch it all to Eclipse, and I just decided to stop posting. Furthermore, I've heard in the following years that more people have been drifting away from DA.
Recently, I've been having some new thoughts, since I still now and then check in on my messages on DA. I still get a whole lot of watches and favs, and I've been debating maybe going back and posting on DA, but in recent months browsing DA, I'm just seeing new problems which makes me think it's probably not worth it anymore.
I've noticed that there's a new feature where, like Patreon, people can put a paywall on certain pics or even their whole galleries where you either pay for viewing pics or certain pages of their gallery or send them monthly contributions just to view their art, period.
Also, while DA seemed to open up a bit more on NSFW art, which I'm OK with, unfortunately it's become extremely AI art based. A LOT of the art that comes up on the DA feed is AI - it even feels like even Inkbunny has more real art than DA nowadays. Some of you might remember a couple months ago I questioned whether AI art is bad if it actually inspires ideas for real art, and I got a big backlash from that, that I had to take that journal down. Well, if there's any proof to people's perspective on the negatives on AI art, it's DA.
All this AI is starting to make hard working artists look no good, and I'm not going to support that anymore.
I'm going to be closing my art gallery and taking it all down. DeviantArt is just not the site I loved anymore. It died a long time ago.

I used to use DA a lot, and the only reason I check it occasionally is because of 1 or 2 artists that still choose to use it over FA. But in my opinion, DA is garbage. If you don’t have the filter on to block out AI, then 90% of what pops up is AI slop. FA has its faults, but I honestly think it’s the best platform to upload to.
