Yea, you can get a nice netbook for near 200 bucks, if you wanna sacrifice speed,power, working ability and your sanity xD
But it would be just powerful enough to surf the web and write papers. Which is all we college students seem to have time for anymore these days. Well at least over here >.<

I was just going to say get a mac but finding a port for FO3 to run natively is near impossible and running windows and playing a game under windows on a mac doesn't seem to work that well even with 4 gigs of ram >.>
But you will have to save up a lot of money to get a laptop that can play games well. Towers a much better at playing video games, and you can at least upgrade them when needed. Laptops not so much sadly.
Make sure you get a duo core processor though (or anything higher), that will come in handy for video games and multi-taking.
Single cores will let you multi-task but not as well, and playing a game on one is kinda like watching pain dry, but at least watching paint dry is fun.

I have used only one form of linux, and it was bad >.< But I put the blame on the schools crappy computers.
And I could never get it installed on any computer I have ever used >.<

There are quite a lot of Linuxes. There is even a site that shows you the top 100 most popular linux versions (I think crunchbang is like #25). Crunchbang is a very sexy OS that has no icons on the desktop; you just right-click to create a scroll-down menu that has everything.

OKay that is a very awesome OS! I think I wanna get it now xD

And it has a sexy black deskktop image, and in the top-right corner is a conky readout that monitors CPU usage and stuff like that.

Ripping your hair out? Sounds like Warriors of the Lost Empire (PSP). It gets a lot of bad reviews, but it isn't that bad a game. Just because the enemy AI is very, very stupid doesn't mean they aren't still hard as hell.
