Anti Virus/spyware/malware programs

I just got through reloading windows into my laptop after suffering through a viscous virus. Can anyone recommend some good programs for preventing infections or even cleaning infected computers?

They work pretty well for me. Found them in PC Magazine as some of the best free ones.

For now... One day they just might start writing viruses for macs too. Mac users, previously unfamiliar with such stresses, will have no idea how to cope. Then we'll all be f@#ked.
