Just finished booking a room for AC, I'll be crashing with friends at the Doubletree City Center. Evens out to about $135 +tax per night (CAA Membership FTW!), I know I could've gotten cheaper with the Westin, but I really didn't wanna wait until February, not be able to get a room because of the mad rush, and then have to try and scrounge for a room at one of the overflows.

I'm not sure I understand why they're delaying reservations at the Westin, anyways. The argument seemed to be that the rooms booked up incredibly early in the years previous, and that this was going to make it more fair for people who weren't sure whether they were going or if they could afford it. I'm not sure how this is fair. I personally think people who can confirm that they're going should be able to book as early as they please.

The Westin will fill its rooms no matter how they schedule it, so they don't particularly care. But people who want to book early will simply do it at the hotels that aren't delaying reservations.

At least I'm not stuck with the Courtyard. Rates started at $160/night, and that's if I paid all in advance.
