Mass Effect 2 First impressions

Not a major review, I just wanted to give my first impressions after a bit of playtime.
Now, I loved Mass Effect 1 to death. I like Mass Effect 2 so far as well, but there are a couple minor things that bug me.
1: The loading screens. Say what you will about Mass Effect's elevator rides and such, but it was a bit more immersive than a computer-y loading screen.
2: Weapon technology seems to have taken a step back since ME1. Specifically, with the need for ammunition. In ME1, there was unlimited ammo, and, if I recall correctly, a techno-babble-y explanation for it. ME2 uses 'heat clips' (or something like that)...which doesn't make sense because in ME1, when your gun overheated, the bit that cooled it off was a permanent part of the weapon, with no need to be replaced.
There'll probably be more. Or not, if I can't be bothered.
EDIT: Ok, I'm discovering something that's a MAJOR pain in the ass. Scanning for resources.
Seriously Bioware, this is the most tedious game-mechanic I've ever encountered. What the hell.
