Our society...

..What a joke.
How superficial have we become as a species? I honestly hate listening to the radio, or watching TV, because everything that you see and hear is praying on the insecurities of the viewers or listeners. It's infuriating.
For example, I was driving home last night, happily listening to extremely late night/very early morning radio, and I heard the same commercial three time. The commercial I heard? Some random drug guaranteeing to make a man bigger. Sex has become a far too important staple in people's lives.
Don't get me wrong, satisfying your partner is always a good thing, but if you are so worried about yourself and your performance to be reaching for these drugs there are other issues in your life that need to be addressed. The fact that these markets are continuing to grow, and are amazingly profitable, speaks of the insecurities that we have created in the masses of our society.
This is just one example that is targeted at men. I'm well aware of the fact that women in our society are under much more scrutiny, and have more products targeted at insecurities. Just look at your news stands and you'll see celebrities and models that are supposed to be idolized by the masses. Theses are the people that we are supposed to look up to for guidance in our own lifestyles? Yeah right. You can't live up to the expectations set by these individuals, but if somebody doesn't fit that mold they are immediately branded an outcast in some fashion.
Just a bit of a rant from me, sparked by 5am driving, that I needed to vent a bit. For those that read, that's my view.
TL;DR
We're a bunch of superficial idiots that are too bent out of shape over the physical representations of ourselves to the rest of the world to fully understand who we are and what is important in our lives.

The long and short is, I totally agree. I hear far too many diet and sex pill commercials and I'm sick of it. People need to get off their asses and EXERCISE, which is the ONLY real cure for being overweight. As for sex, well, if they really loved you, they wouldn't care about your performance/size as much as just plain YOU.
Just my two cents.
I don't know what it is, but people are just stuck on the physical aspects of society rather than finding what's important. It leads to a depressing society and pathetic way of life.
If I ever become one of those people, feel free to kick me in the balls.
On a complete side note: I haven't heard from you in ages man. How are you doing out in Cali?
I totally miss my Kansas crew though, hope you guys are havin a blast!
Kansas is...well...Kansas. You've been here, you know. Still working and going to school, so not a whole lot has changed for me. It's still a blast of course. Too bad you moved away, you would know first hand.
