The 3 beat or 2 beat? Both are great to learn but the 3 is considered the standard....don't forget about the 2 beat though cause it comes in handy for transitions later in the game

Oh I hear ya! I first learned the 2 beat and then learned the 3 beat a couple weeks later and it was so hard to get over the muscle memory of the 2 beat. Well grats and keep it up and if ya need help feel free to ask :3

The 2 and 3 are probably most useful for creativity since they're the most flexible and complement each other very nicely. Still, it's also very much worth learning the 5-beat with them if at all possible. I made the mistake of putting it off for months and by the time I got to it, 3-beat weaves were so ingrained into me it took many times longer than it should have to unlearn what I'd learned so I could get the 5-beat right. The crossover feels like the opposite arm should be leading, so it's much easier if you learn before you have anything you have to really unlearn. :P
