...Alright, I keep feeling the temptation, and I'm finally drawing up my own design. It's not going to be the standard fursuit that one usually sees, but a full-blown quad suit. If I make it right, it'll cost a little less in overall materials and I'll be able to go outside in it and have a full range of movement. I've already got the basic idea of it down just based on how my feral form looks, along with what feels right to me just imagining it. It doesn't really matter to me that I won't be able to notice some sensations because of it, because if I'm thinking of this correctly, then it'll be a robo-suit of sorts. Without all the high-tech gadgetry.
I'm going to make it in my spare time, so depending on how things go it could take anywhere from a few months to a few years. I will be ordering some parts (tail and ears, most likely, both hopefully fully operational), hand-crafting others, and mooching off of friends for even more.
For example- if anybody in the Rapid City, Spearfish, or Lead-Deadwood area is exceptional in airbrushing and wouldn't mind helping an eccentric steampunk furre in achieving her furre fantasy, then I would be willing to pay you even, or trade you some sort of art or something. I know for a fact that I WOULD screw up something so much that I'd waste more money trying to redo it than it'd take to just have someone who knows what they're doing do it.
So if anybody has any spare faux fur, fishing line, boxing gloves, or old foam stuffs that they're considering throwing away or taking to the dump, I'll take it off your hands!
I will pay for any and all services received!

That sounds really fun! I hope it turns out pretty cool! I'd really love to get a fursuit myself, and I have the money to buy one, I just don't know who to give it to x.=.x I'm very picky about who would make my suit. It HAS to be a digigrade suit and I've yet to find someone who has access to a metal workshop.
It's harder to make than a regular suit in that you turn a two-legged creature into a four-legged one, but easier (for me) in that you're just putting physical form to what's already there.
