My pieces I submit to FA and DA usually have half or 1/3 of its original size on Photoshop so that I can work on small details and not worry about some stray pixels here or there that will be erased with the image reduction. I'm also on the lookout for amazing art here, but most of the stuff I find is yiff ( not that I don't like some of them, but I don't want my favourites to have more yiffy stuff than artfag pieces :c )

No I meant squished images, like pics that are 2x too wide or tall, which would make circles into long ovals, etc.

That usually happens with some folks who use a 1280x1024 LCD monitor, but set their monitor size to 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, etc. and then draw pictures without even considering the correct aspect ratio the pictures are supposed to be drawn in. 1280x1024 is 5:4 aspect ratio, while 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 are all 4:3 ratio, and unfortunately, not every monitors have the ability to correctly display the correct ratio. As a result, while the drawing may appear correct on a 1280x1024 LCD monitor displaying 1024x768 resolution, the same drawing when viewed in a monitor that correctly adjusts the aspect ratio of the current resolution being displayed would look slightly squashed, because of the different aspect ratio the drawing was drawn in. So far, I only remember one furry artist in DA whose old drawings were obviously like this.

I admit, it is a bit annoying. x_x;; The best remedy is to just set the default display resolution to whatever the native resolution the monitor is, and then draw using that resolution. I have yet to see more extreme examples than this.

I've seen several that are 1.5x widened, like they're using a 1600x768 res on a 4:3 monitor.. thats way too much, It irks me that a lot of these widescreen TVs do this too, it F'ing bugs me. >_<

Err, and the opposite too, some are thinned to 2/3.

Gotta admit, I haven't seen this happen. I'm glad I'm not coming across these pictures. If I did, I'm sure I'd ask what the deal is with the squishy and the stretchy.
