I just finished watching this movie and I'm in tears. I was weeping at the end... I never weep. If you should so choose to go see this movie, bring lots of tissues.
"A Dog's Story" is a movie following the life of Hachiko, a Japanese Akita. Professor Parker Wilson discovers Hachi after he gets lost on the station platform, so, the professor takes him home with every intention of finding him his true owner. As things pass, Hachi bonds with the Professor on a deep level and they become inseparable to the point that Hachi walks the Professor to the train station everyone morning and comes back to wait for him every evening.
Spoiler: Then, one evening, the Professor doesn't return home. Hachi doesn't understand the professor died at work. Hachi, refusing to forget the professor, waits everyday for more than ten years for the professor to return. Then, an aged and frail Hachi returns one night to wait for the professor and his eyes shut and his memories play across the screen. The next shot is of the professor standing walking through the station doors, waiting for the elder Hachiko. He has come back for his waiting companion... Hachi passed away and found his master waiting for him too.
This is a true story based upon the true Hachiko, who died in March, 1935. He waited nine years for his master and is remembered with a bronze statue in Shabuya railroad station. He is remembered as a monument of faith and loyalty, and is the inspiration behind Oren. One should be so lucky to have a pet like him.
Available for watching in the USA on December 18, 2010. Dates range, check IMDB.com for the release dates of your country.

i can the conect now with Hachi and Oren!!!
AAAWWW
It's so heartwarming and sad, bittersweet story at its best. I did the whole "man cry" where I held in the sobs and let the lip quiver. My story started after reading about the true Hachiko, that's how "Those Forgotten" and Oren came to be. I had just started writing when I saw the preview of this movie and I just about wet myself with glee, but, I mistaked the date for December 18th, 2009. Turns out, it's December 18th, 2010.... sooo.... being tech savvy, I found a way to watch it early. It sucks that I would have to wait and if this movie doesn't do well, I'd be shocked.
I want Hachiko!
OMG i love it!
I WANT TO SEE IT NOW!!!!!!!
*watches again*
OMG not again *gets more tissues*
but im not shore if i can get it (i live in the UK) and my copmuter is a bit sketchy at the best of times >:(
and there is no shame in a grown man crying!!! *sniff sniff*
Besides, some characters are in the next story. Aidan's father, for example, is a clone of Nate and Valentine's Day was a story following Luke and Valentine in the future too. My next story will be pretty long, you might like it, though there will be no werewolves and its a whole lot less happy and hopeful.
