In Afghanistan; Shift change and mail.

The last couple of days have been kind of harsh. Instead of my usual shift of 16 to 24, it's been 8 to 20 (from 8hrs to 12hrs and the daytime.) It's hard to go to that, but luckily it's over and I'm resuming my normal shift.
I got some mail last night. They told me about it just as I was drifting off too sleep after too long of a day. I didn't sleep well after that, woke up at midnight then couldn't fall back to sleep for another hour or so. All for a package of new clothing the army ordered for us last week.
I got another package today! A are package from "Any Soldier." I was surprised by this one because it was 'certified'. A big box with LOTS of stamps on it. Had some magazines, a volleyball, and lots of snacks. Care packages are a wonderful thing :D It's not the first I've gotten here, but we all appreciate getting them regardless of what it contains. Our PX is pretty pathetic, a simple shipping container, and it hasn't been open for a couple of weeks due to trouble getting more stuff.
