Nice guys don't finish. Ever.

Reading this...
...it's like getting kicked in the face. Oh sure, they'll glamorize this mindset, this way of life, but that's it. All you get after years of being "nice" is a consolation prize. But that's not all. It's not even by choice. It's just how some people end up, and in the end, either something happens them to make them into an asshole like all the others, or they die alone. Nice, but ALONE. And that's why I can't afford to bother anymore. For the first time in a long time, I'm not even trying to pursue anyone, and haven't been for ... longer than I can remember. More than a month. Maybe more than two.
Nobody really wants a nice guy. They may say they do, if only because it makes sense, but SENSE IS NOT CHEMISTRY.
...but, come to think, right now I -would- rather end up dying alone than end up turning into a jerk.

I can spot a nice guy.
However, some femme's can't see one if they walked into a river full of 'em.
-sighs- I jus' say be yerself. 'Cause if you want to stick with someone, it's hard to hold up some charade for so long.
As for me. I'm myself too. I don't bother with fancy clothes and makeup just to make myself, 'appealing'.
Looks arn't everything. But sadly, what everyone's going for now these days. Femme's and males alike.
It's what's on the inside.
... but my idea of beauty, as said, COULD be warped. it's indeed sadly possible that 'not ugly' for me is a 'fairly attractive' on the global scale. I just... I wish I didn't have these limitations in myself. I wish I didn't have such unrealistic goals--if they are, indeed.
I mean, I've always believed myself to think about 'the inside'... but sometimes I wonder if it's just a front to rationalize behavior. people do that. Make excuses to themselves to convince themselves that they are in the right.
Never have I felt that fancy clothes or makeup added that much to someone except for the consolation that they put in effort. meh... it's just... hearing you mention it makes me consider my priorities. it's not something I think about as much as I used to. I guess it kind of built up. eh well... my steam is running out anyway...
