Actually, Marvel said something like this, and says that there is an infinite amount of universes, even though most are small subtle differences that for the most part would be unnoticeable. However, they went and numbered quite a few universes. They even numbed the DC universe. So hey, going by their standards, there's a universe where Batman's your nemesis, and a universe where Sonic's a chick and a cyborg with a glowing left eye and smokes cigars, and puts them out on Tails... I like that last universe because i hate Tails. Whoa, there could even be a universe with a Kryptonian version of you, that faces a Sonic that has the Venom symbiote.

I was thinking more of a Magneto, but I can't think of an egg pun to slap on there. Then again there's also Dr.Doom (also cannot think of an egg pun to slap on), but in that universe Sonic would probably be on fire, and Tails would be some rich nerdy guy who screwed you over in college. Then again, the Lizard would match you the best. Brilliant scientist, experiment goes wrong, and makes you who you are today. Julian Ovi Conners? Kurtis Kintobor? I guess that'd work. I mean he is one of Spider-Man's villains. but then that'd mean Tails is Spider-Man, and Sonic would hate him. But that'd also workout, because both work together whenever something big comes along.
