life updates
- My birthday just passed! On the day before my last high school exam ever, I turned 18! Now I can get my license and be charged as an adult when I rob the liquor store for alcohol, which I don't drink. Oh, and I got a bad-ass V-Cast Razr phone. I'm happy. If you gimme your number, I can put you under my "furs" group, and when you call, it'll play "Wolf Like Me" by TV on the Radio. Bad-ass. Also,
Ping got me a video called 'The Zen of Screaming,; which means now I'm going to rock your face off. Yuss, indeed!
- As hinted, high school is over forever now. No more high school. It's gone for good. Never again.
- If you've been keeping up with the band, you'll know that we're recording some songs professionally this June. I urge you to look at the last post in this entry's 'life updates' and join our Second Life club for more info and up-to-date updates!
- I got a part in Playhouse on the Square's production of Big River, which is Big News. Oh, yes.
- SECOND LIFE USERS who enjoy the music of Controlled Substance! Join our fanclub, Children of Substance in the Second Life Groups section. - Stairwell Suite - Dunno if you can call it a suite, just because I wouldn't call the movements dances. Anyway, it's my attempt at something remotely classical on guitar. It's sexy, whatever it is.
- Alexander - It sounds like The pillows to me, and I wrote some Japanese lyrics for it, too. Still working out the kinks, but it's pretty nifty.
- Light of the Fox - "kitsune no hikari," my first submission, in Japanese. I've been meaning to record it. Maybe I'll pull in the band on this one.
- Lay Down and Die - Based off an idea of Ping's. He wanted me to help him write a series of songs based on his plot. I came up with this.
- Untitled 09 - Drop D and desperate. I think it's very pretty for a distortion piece.
- Fugitive - Chapter Two of Coyote Smile… Something final? I plan to rerecord both rhythm and lead, and maybe get the band in there, too.
- Shiners - The final chapter of the Coyote Smile series. I've finally begun work on it after over a year. It should be nifty.
- Cigaro (SOAD Cover) - Yeah, still gonna do it! I have the speed pick, but now I have to practice some more to get it back up to par. Expect this no time soon, though… I'm working on originals right now.
- Band Recordings - This is tentative, but I like to submit stuff on which we are working.
Trades/Gifts
- Was working with Fave, but I think we both… forgot… I haven't heard anything more from Fave in a while…
- I'm open for more trades, if anyone's interested! Just send me a note!
- Still waiting on my end of the deal from a couple of people… No pressure, I'm patient. I just hope you still remember, dammit.

I never said I wasn't coming to practice! I might be a bit late tomorrow though. And I do realize (though I realized it recently) that you guys do think of me as more than simply one who plays for the band. I just wish I could spend more hanging out time with you people. Unlike nearly everyone in my family, I really enjoy having people's company, y'see. And you guys are approximately my best friends. I don't have many friends that I'm able to see often at all.
My evil thing has not been scrapped and I've even enlisted Mary's help on it. It's gonna be pretty cool. But I still won't tell you what it is. XD
