Awakening the muse..
In high school, I loved art class. I loved that i could create, see something, and draw it, illustrate a mental picture, or carve my name in a desk. My skills were dreadfully limited, but sated my interest. Band geek extraordinaire, underachiever, ever regretting decisions to care less about school. I have seen art with vastly superior skills to my own since first visiting the fandom, and something in my head woke up. 22 years later. Why does it take this long to realize that you have been missing something the entire time? 10 years, the music part of me woke up, and I went out and bought an electric guitar and amp. Can't remember the theory to save my life, but I love that 'lectric twanger, and the noise I can make. This year, along with my distortion machine, I have felt a new urge. The halloween costume I made in '88 (a wereboar) reminded me that I have some skills. With a great deal of help from some new found friends, tutorials, and research, I have come up with my 'fursona' He makes me happy too. Wishing that I could draw more, I have also awoken the muse of graphic art. I dug out a set of Laurentian pencil crayons that I have had for ages. However, this muse seems somewhat groggy still. I remember the watercolours I used to enjoy. The clay sculpting that I was only half good at but nevertheless enjoyed. I remember using paintshop pro to make pixel by pixel pictures of random lunacy.
