[Furry] Post-FWA
We're on our way home from FWA now, so here are my parting thoughts on the con.
People drank too much. People always drink too much. It makes me sad when alcohol and activities surrounding it (room parties and hangovers) tie people up from 9 PM to 1 PM.
Furries in groups make everything difficult. Differing schedules, diets, tastes and lots of social opportunities make it exceptionally difficult to get more than 5 people together for something as simple as food and a movie.
Fursuits are growing on me a bit. Maybe some year I'll get one. Not this year. Complete with cinnamon scent. Get back to me on this in 2011.
At future conventions, I'll make sure I have contact info for -everyone- I want to hang out with. There were a number of people I couldn't find when I wanted to (or, really, at all) because we never shared contact info. Another friend was at the con and I didn't even know. Must share contact info and be more aggressive in pursuing social interactions.
Really, my biggest problem at cons is that I'm way too passive when it comes to social interactions. I'll cruise the con floor every hour and look for familiar faces, try to round people up for meals and movies, but other than that in the absence of planned activities I'll sit and keep my eyes peeled for friendly faces.
Overall, pretty fun. Saw How to Train Your Dragon in 3D, two nights in a row--I loved it that much (has nothing to do with having a dragon character, either... it was just adorable). Went to dinner with motherfuckin' Fel and Fennec (twice for the latter). Got a Moonstalker badge.

FA+

Had one of them at Midfur in 08... Then he had the nerve to complain to the panel about the music, because 'everyone wants to talk to each other at a con.'
He was never off of his bloody netbookt he whole time!
This guy was IMing the whole time. Probably telling everyone what a wonderful time he was having at Australia's first ever Con!
Never mind all of the furs that were walking right past him that he could have said hello to.
so to compensate i bought a 21.5" 1080p PC display X3; my favorite fuzzy dragon looks even cuddlier in HD! =D
id love to move to america. or at least spend a few weeks there^^
germany sucks in my opinion. retarded laws, huge piles of paperwork every time you want tomething done and our politicans are old and egocentric morons.
but hey, i dont see my furture in germany, anyways! im studying chemical biology right now, there are way better jobs beyond the border!^^
fursuits are a lot of fun when not taken too far
both Fel and Fennec are good chaps, dinner with either one sounds fun
i will be seeing that movie tomorrow, all kinds of excited
I WANTED TO GOOOOO XD
i wouldn't be able to sadly, my astigmatism hates 3D, gives me a headache to watch it for too long. going to fight through it when i see it in 3D in a normal theater tomorrow but i dont think i could stand IMAX
i'd prefer to wait for full 360 degree 3D, jetsons hologram style
Proper 3D movies make it sooo not silly and gimmicky. There's one part in How to Train Your Dragon where you see some first-person flying, just for a couple seconds, really close to the surface of the ocean. It feels like you're going reaaally fast ._. courtesy of the 3D.
It would be cool to see your fursuit of your character. Are you going to be at Anthrocon? If you are, you can meet with me over there. I'll be meeting up with Cornwall over there and maybe see Da-Fox over there.
I want to go see that movie myself. Just didn't get to go yet.
*runs off leaving a trail of tears and flails his arms*
BTW get home safe, was nice seeing u there! *squeeeze*
Well.... I guess they are nice at least :3 Had a nice time ? n..n
:D
I just had quite the detailed image in mind from that x3
Still, your the little subby kipfox I know what you like ;P
Hey wait...this was the Georgia one, yes?
I haven't seen "How to Train Your Dragon" yet, but I plan to. Tell me though, does it rag on the viking shtick really badly, or is it somewhat decent? :/
It really has two big chunks to it: the "Vikings must defeat dragons to protect ourselves!" side that the villagers were barking, and the "But I don't want to kill dragons ._." of the main character. As far as legit Viking stuff goes, the only stuff I noticed was the occasional Norse-mythology-inspired exclamation.
Glad you had a good time ^_^
Off-topic, I know..... but, whatev. Had no moneys anyways. v.=.v
Still sounds like you had fuuun, which is nice. Hope you get home safe and stuff.
Then I'll probably not talk to anyone or anything, because I'm shy and antisocial. :p
Dunno if we're going to any this year, you'd probably have to wait til next year to see us at one~
Kinda was hoping to see you but I didn't see any badge that said Twile; Maybe next time.
