So i learned today that i have to leave my ferrets behind in NC for at least two years... by which point my oldest (and favorite) will be dead. he's over 8 already, and a little sick.
It is indeed hard to part with what you've grown attached to. There's little I can say other than try not to dwell too much on your loss.
He'll remember you, he will, as his best friend.
You have time to find a new home for your woozles. You'll miss them, of course. You'll be able to take consolation from the fact that the lil' slinkies are being taken good care of and somebody is loving them. As for the old one, it'll probably hurt as much if you're there or not; OTOH, you'll have somebody to share the loss with. So it's not all bad.
