interesting and different. An anime created by Stan Lee (Marvel Comics) and made by Studio Bones (makers of Eureka 7 anime and Full Metal Alchemist anime).
stumbled onto it after seeing an absurd amount of fanart for it. (Lee himself as usual makes a cameo in it as well).
first and 2nd episodes are on there.
Nice to see an anime where the lead character isnt some emo kid and the locale isnt a suburb of tokyo.

and i have to agree that the hero isn't some woe is me ship wreck and that this kid is actually normal under extraordinary circumstances

I can't put this in Ranks with Anything that has come from Marvel Comics. No, Joey does not have any personality at all. He has no character flaws at all. He is just a week super goody good. He doesn't want anything or have any ambition or even a spine. FUCK HIM.
The story is your typical Japanese Bull Shit Boy and his super powered pet what ever the hell. It's not even executed in different or colorful way at all.
The side characters aren't even interesting. The love interest bring nothing to the table like charm, hotness or even independent personality.
No, this is the same shit different toilet. Who the FUCK thought it was a good it would be a good Idea to put anything close to resembling America on this Bull Shit. FUCK THE STORY
What happened to even giving the kid direct control over his own GOD DAMN power. A do it your self attitude or at the very least a spine. Hell at least Peter Parker had the smarts to run away from or out smart Bullies before he had powers. Bruce Banner could at least suck it up and take it like a man. Steve Roger could stand his ground. Tony Stark had a lust for life indulging in women, booze and machines. And still had direct control over what he could do.
This brings absolutely nothing to the table. NO, FUCK THIS as an ANIME, FUCK THIS as a CARTOON, and FUCK THIS as SHOW.
But thats how it is anymore.
