is moving to a new account -really- worth it?

deleting my work on this account and moving to pengi was a giant mistake and I still dont really know why people move accounts. I dont know about now but artists moving was a common thing. I dont know why they moved accounts and closed old ones but I mostly did it because I had tried several times to 'reinvent' myself, gain a new artistic mascot of sorts and essentially "start over". But as a friend said, that was a mistake and I agree with him. So I closed off pengi and returned to this account and unless this entire website is going to get shut down, theres no reason to leave.
I guess some people move just to see how many people would follow them but that seems stupid to me. But I guess I shouldnt be surprised after what I've seen in the community over the eons.
I'm trying to get back into drawing.

I never really got why people did it. I mean it makes sense to make another account if you want to segregate your stuff, like I saw someone make a second account to separate their MLP stuff from their main account. Other than that, what's the point? You are just shedding watchers and any recognition you may have built up. I know I don't chase after people playing musical accounts.

exactly. a friend told me the same about basically erasing everything you built up.
