What is Steamfurs?

Steamfurs is a new a Furaffinity community that showcases the best and brightest in steampunk arts and crafts among the furry fandom! This includes traditional and digital art, sculpture, jewelry, writing, music, and poetry.

What is steampunk?

Fictional works often given the title of 'Steampunk' are likely to have the ideals and mannerisms befitting neo-victorian theme, a restless world on the verge of war or thereafter, where the fanciful ideas and inventions of yesteryear find themselves translated into whimsical adaptations of contraptions such as dirigibles, steamboats, trains, and even weaponry. Steampunk in a sense is an introspective 'what could have been' look into our past. It is a longing for elegance. A time where things were just making headway into a bright new future of innovation.

How does this Steamfur Community work?

Showcasing will be held in the form of submissions under the 'Favorites' section and NOT in the 'Gallery' unless given permission by the artist. Besides it's better if you go directly to their page to 'Favorite' and comment on their work anyways right? In the future there may be contests, discussions, and special events held, but since we're just starting out with this, let's test the waters before diving in headfirst ok? Shortly (when I get around to making it XD) there will be a 'stamp' or 'icon' you can put on your page (if you want) to let others know you're apart of (watching) and/or approve this group.:)
