Hmm, I think its the controls available on the PSP versions. Also I like the original Monster Hunter Freedom because there was a feeling of storyline that had a depth closer to the FF games, but since then they've been pretty much just sequel games to make monies.

So essentially, if MHTri has a storyline with feeling (Something a lot of JGames seem to lack) then I'm interested :-D

monster hunter tri is far taken from earlier sequels, starting fresh with new monster, new areas, and new equipment. The controls on the wii take a while to get used too, but if you have trouble with that you can use the wii classic mote for a more PS2 style control (having both an R2 and L2 along with 2 analog sticks). Unfortunately, not much of a story line, but this time you are more involved in building up your village, there's a non mission hunting area where you can gain resource points that go towards various upgrades, or traded for felyne meals, and even used to send people on trips to gather resources for you. End game you're probably going to be playing with other people
