That book was actually rather awesome. He's since released a couple others, which I haven't read, not for lack of intent.

And yes, teh book is way better than the TV series.

i haven't seen the TV series yet, bust most people i know who've seen it rather liked it. but i saw the book (don't really watch TV anymore) and recognized the name and went should read that... will definitely be looking at his other works.

Only reason I saw the series was because a friend gave it to me on disc :P

But yeah, the theory behind the premise is quite fascinating. People should really read more.

Also, you may want to check out Watermind by M. M. Buckner, if you like the sort of speculative sci-fi.
