2 Questions (honest)

Kyoo no tema wa kore desu....
Got a couple questions in here, for anyone willing to wade through the random.
So I'm getting over another cold, hanging out in the library, feeling all logy with my throat, chest, & head fulla gunk. Trying to download various anime, manga, & TV shows with very, very limited success, largely due to the library's slo-mo wifi. Irritating, but I can deal.
What I'm having a very poor time dealing with graciously is the schmuck who sat himself down behind me not 15 minutes after I got in, who will not stop his constant sscccchhhhhnort-ing.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Blow yer damned nose, already!
Quit re-cycling it!
There are few sounds which make me wanna go into a manic screaming frenzy more than someone constantly snorting their snot. -_-
Which leads us to
Question #1: I'm gonna have to draw this, someday. But what kind of critter would the snot-snorter be? Anything porcine seems too obvious.
And let's switch gears completely & immediately on to---
Question #2: Is it rude to just go & draw myself giving someone who doesn't know me a hug, without asking the person first?
A couple months ago I had an idea for a meme (give an FA artist you don't know & admire a hug), and wanted to have a couple drawings done before making a journal about it. I've been randomly sending notes to various folks (who don't know me), asking permission to draw myself giving them a G-rated hug. So far I've had one "I don't mind," several no answers (which I'll take as a no), and several "Thanks but please don't."
I'm kind of torn here. I don't want to produce anything the subjects would object to or possibly be upset with me over (such as being depicted being hugged by a strange corpulent fan-girl rat). But at the same time, I'm beginning to think if I ask in advance, I'll have maybe only 2 approved hugs, which is a bummer.
That's all I've got right now.

2: Anyone who turns down a free hug from you...well...I just don't know. I guess I've had some odd people ask to draw my characters in ways that made me feel odd...but a hug seems ok.
I think sometimes people are just weird about hugs.
Not me though. :P
::hugs!::
That would result in snorkle-sorting, ewwwwwww very good suggestion!
2. Hugging/No hugging is odd because most people accept "gift art." Possibly its the "who" they are hugging. In that case, its their loss for missing out on Dakota's Unanimously Certified Kwan Hugs. A.K.A DUCK! Hugs.
"Unanimously, I think they're awesome" <end catch phrase with a wink and thumbs up.>
If you don't duck from one of Dakota's attacks, it's gonna hurt. I got new ear piercings, and now she's trying to nom my ears. When it was the eyebrow, she poked that. When the goatee is long, she'll tug on that. I'm afraid of having a broken limb for her theft of the cast >_>
It's pretty much like plastering yourself with bulls-eyes, as far as Dakotah is concerned.
Oh yeah, she'll totally gank your cast. She might even leave your limb behind, but that's iffy.
(although an elephant shrew makes for a perfect geek)
2. "And I am unanimous in that!" --Mrs Slocombe
Yeah, I'm left wondering if it's because it's a a hug with a big fat rat, or if it's just because they're not touchy-feely & would reject a hug no matter how attractive the other party is.
DUCKh? DUCKh!? COPYRIGHT IT!
2. Doooo eeeeeett!
3. ????????
4. PROFIT!!!

A2. I really enjoy the random hug idea. It shows people love. I really like the idea. though the person following and doing the meme would need permission from the random artist. if they do not get permission they should go on to the next one.
it's the other person losing out in my opinions. cause then.. theres less publicity for them and they are also missing out on gift art from a true fan.
You definetly deserve some good karma.
Draw yourself kicking them instead of hugging them, it's more fun!
That's completely something you'd do, too. I wanna draw that, now!
2. Personally I don't think so :D A hug is a compliment as far as I'm concerned! Granted some people's reactions may be like "O___o" but I think a hug should be fine personally, because its not like you're doing anything innapropriate or anything. =)
I recognize that there may be various reasons for declining, not just what I tend to automatically think ("I don't wanna be hugged by a fatty!"). They might not like hugs & don't want to set an uncomfortable precedent, they might have a jealous mate, they might not understand my intent, etc.
The general response I've gotten from various conversations has been, "Just go ahead & draw it, you can always apologize later." At the same time though, I really don't wish to alienate, offend, or cause trouble. :/
'Tis a sticky wicket, wot wot?
I just wanna give 'em a fan-girl hug 'cause I like how they make their arts.
I remember a girl drew herself hugging my character as a thank you for me making her a commission. but she had already payd.
either way. My point is. she drew my character with a completely disguted and slightly scared face. which i thought was funny. I guess that was her way of trying not to make it look like i agreed on the hug.
either way. she was really sweet and Kwan. you can draw your character hugging mine anyday~ Love should be the thing to make the world go around : }
