Victory and Loss-ory?

So recently I had to go to a track meet and I didn't really want to go to this. Ya see, I'm one of the better ppl running so they kept me from the team cut.
I didn't wanna go to this bc 1) it wasted my whole night (I ran two laps and then waited around the rest of the time), 2) I coulda been presenting in an art contest and went to see an art show (but someone else had to deliver my artwork for me).
So I went and ran in my event and did AWFUL!!! (I did a 2:18 in the 800m :( ) I coulda done so much better that...
Anyway, we got back to school @ about 9. And then someone told me "OMG! You got an honorable mention for ur painting!" :D
Two things ran thru my mind at that point. 1) "Oh my gawd! That's AWESOME!" 2)"...AND I MISSED IT?!?!?"
*sigh* oh well.. I guess I can't do anything abt but I thought it was a funny story...
MORAL OF THE STORY: blah blah blah *fill in l8r* :D
