At which do you most can't the least?
First is the eight things about me meme.

I) My fur name is a music theory term. I took it because it sounds like a made-up name, but it actually has meaning. It also helps me locate others with knowledge of music theory.
II) I am an aspiring scientist. I'm currently registered as a physics major, but I am also considering chemistry.
III) I have a scar on my face from a mosh pit. It's under one of my eyebrows, so you can't see the scar itself very well, but part of the eyebrow won't grow back because of the scar tissue.
IV) I'm very good at getting up early. I spent several semesters getting up at 6:30 every morning. I even got up at 5:30 once, just to see if I could. On the other hand, I tend to get tired pretty early unless I'm actually out doing something.
V) When I go to metal concerts I love to mosh, crowdsurf and (even though I've only gotten to do it at one show) stage dive.
VI) I'm a musician. I mostly play guitar and bass, but I've played a bit of piano/keyboard, and I'm interested in learning to sing and play the drums.
VII) I'm a huge fan of heavy metal music. My favorite style of heavy metal is thrash metal.
VIII) I have an odd diet. I don't eat meat, but it's not because I object to it. I just haven't eaten meat in a long time. I tend to subsist on bread probucts, namely toast, bagels and cereal.
I'm not going to tag eight people, but I'll tag a few who I think might actually do it.

-Two white basses. The Rail at the con was white, but faded to a nice creme color. The other white bass belonged to someone else, I forget his name but his character is a white otter.
-That I was, that I was. So many more talented musicians got their hands on my Rail!
-A lizard? Care to explain?
-I would like to be in a touring band, preferably doing bass and vocals (or at least backing vocals). If I could have my dream band it would probably sound like big band ska punk swing or something and have like 12 members, mostly playing horns. I would settle for a simple ska punk band though!
-Playing faster just sounds wanky a lot of the time. Learning more stuff makes the music more interesting. I generally work in the 1, 3, 5, and occasionally 4 of whatever the guitarist is playing into my bass lines. Learning to slap cleanly and efficiently would be nice too.
-I spent all my money on them. I've since regained my sanity, mostly so I can live without having to pinch pennies everywhere.
-Hmmmmm. Maaaaaaybe.
I can just imagine your hair on some sort of lizard. I'm not exactly sure why.
I also like to learn theory and different musical styles, but as a metal musician I also have to build up speed. I just don't like when people think speed equals skill.
It's certainly a nice collection!
And I don't think I'll ever be fast enough to play metal.

Playing fast just takes diligent practice. But if you don't need to play that fast, there isn't really much reason to practice speed, when you can practice other, more important things.

As for favorite band, it has to be a tie (copout) between Maiden and Megadeth. Maiden have released some albums that are better than any Megadeth album, and some that are a lot worse. Neither had the full force crash and burn that Metallica's career had. I know a lot of people pick totally obscure bands to be their favorites for the sake of being obscure, but Im not afraid to admit that I love Maiden and Megadeth more than even my favorite more obscure bands.
My favorite guitarist is David Gilmour. Show me a solo that's better than the two in Comfortably Numb and I'll call you a liar.
David Gilmour is definitely an awesome guitarist.
