Na, sorry to hear that people are giving you trouble :( I dunno why so many furs think they're entitled to free, made-to-order art all the time.

its great when you have people that never comment or fav or even care about your art suddenly swoop in when you say your doing something for free or requests isnt it?

thats why i stopped taking requests a long time ago..i give gifts to people who actually care and support me and thats what id advise you to do as well

Yeah, I have drawn for people that don't comment or fav my stuff anymore, and had my fair share of bad experiences myself. Personally, just do stuff for yourself, and those friends around you.

got to watch out alot of abusive ppl in the cmmunity thats why i specific who i do requests or art trades with if anybody out of the blue asks for a requests i just ignore them

You know, I feel exactly the same way. I'm not trying to be a shoulder or anything but a lotta people want that veteran artist look and you know, we're both struggling artists; So what if people don't look at your stuff. Draw more! Why? You'll get better, on and on and on and on, you'll progress. Don't do it for people; do it for yourself. Sometimes, a little "me time" isn't a bad thing in the art world.

It is sorry to know that you will cease taking requests and commissions although, I can catch your feeling. There may be numbers of guys who cannot keep even a normal communication, especially Japanese guys. Even I write to them in Japanese language, most of them attempt to decline the communication. Back to the subject, do you think it would be better for you to take such requests after a series of communication?

I understand how you feel. Don't sell yourself cheaply, mate. Drawing ought to be something you do mainly for your own enjoyment.

ere listen mate i don't care what you draw i just like your style basicaly you art in general so you draw what ever you what don't let some slave driving dick heads ruin what you like to draw, and if they don't like or apprecheate what you do then let them rot and don't let them ruin a good artist like ya self

I've know this for a while yet. It's why I have a deep lothing for the community as a whole now. There either the vultures or the eletest. There are few just plain decent persons out there anymore. And most because of these two fractions that caused it.

Community is going to pot.

Do wht you want when you want and fuck the rest. That's what I do with my flashes. I get request all the time and, quite plesently, tell people to go f themselfs. Unless it's somethign absolutly stiring, I'll do things my way.

yet another reason I don't do commissions... suggestions may be taken inta consideration but mostly I jus' draw what I wanna draw... an I do still occassionally draw giftpics an things fer others... which usually is better received since it's usually a surprise ta them... but now ya know why I once said I'm tired'a bein' other people's 'art bitch'!...

But Still i know how much it sucks, I do apologise myself for not really commenting on your artwork, But Really, You do some excellent and lovely pictures, I'd be happy to talk to you anytime if you wanted, I kinda wish i had the money or the unshyness to ask you for a picture long before this, But anyway, If you continue making art, I'd be glad to see it.

I'll continue. And its ok, Im ok with the comments, it just with the ones that give me something to do, then when I try to contct them for more info, I get nothing from them. Like with one of the last commissions I did, there was little contact, there was no comment on the finished version, and I didnt get paid. She could have told me that she did like the coloring I did with the color pencils, which were a free charge, or that the whole thing sucked all together and needed to be redrawn. But anyway, I understand why people dont comment sometimes,its a habbit Im trying to break, trying to stop leaving cheap comments *with help from Malaka and Allester, lol*.

Yeah.. heh, Exactly, thought im glad im not really like those people when i request or pay for things, and even after the pictures done i stay in casual contact and stuff, Mostly i request things, but well not everone does those, but it's good to know that you're not stopping artwork :3

Awwww.. Bigshow... I love your art- I don't understand why so many people just keep taking and not giving any feedback. I haven't said anything about your recent stuff... just been having a rough time IRL... I hope that some people will understand why you are so upset about this, I certainly don't disagree with your decision, and I hope you can get your want and desire to draw YOUR stuff- stuff that you have come up with. I like your stuff and I would ask you to draw me too but I can say that maybe in the future you could do something more pleasing to yourself, like maybe asking for the cash first before even starting a commission?

And hell, I'm not giving up on you! I've had my doldrums as well and I know if you take a break from everything you'll slowly find it all again.

I can say lately the community hasn't pleased me as well, hell, I haven't even had an anthro idea in ages as much as I still enjoy the concept (or even macro/micro for that matter. In my mind it became too much of the same thing and just so limiting. So I went and am doing my own thing right now. I've never had so much fun.)

Take time off and find yourself again. Your friends will be waiting when you get back. I at least try and get the artist I commission to have a little fun with my pictures. I want to give them some creative space and to enjoy it. I don't want it to be all about me.

Still, I hope you find yourself again and do what you feel is best for yourself. You've given to others, now it's time to focus on YOU for a change. *hugs him tight*

thats one reason I don't take commission, I'll listen to requests but promise nothing. I'm more into this for myself than anything else. If I do something for someone its because it caught my interest.
Its sad that you lose interest in something you loved to do because of the fandom.

I hear what you're saying. I know whenever I say "request" there will be about 20 people who would come out of nowhere to ask me to do some crap and then "poof!!" never to be seen again. It's a good way to get the requestee to hate the community really fast. I don't want any of that, so that's why I disguise request journals and price commissions to start at 25 bones ... cause I know this community is spoiled enough to the point that I know I would be surprised if I get more than 3.

Ok guy, Im a bit slow on the uptake here, but if I just heard you correctly, you were trying to tell me to get the fuck off? correct? now, from what you said, I can either do 2 things, I can just ignore what you said just then, or I could act like a jack ass too and tell you what you can do with yourself. This is why I closed requests. I also have a friend who leaves FA Off and on from so many furries asking him to draw their characters.

The sad part is that these days is that everyone's trying to get something for nothing.

So while all this "fanboy hate" is kinda mean-spirited, it's also there because artists simply just want to be what they are, artists. Not personal art slaves.

I've been bothered by a few of them as well. One of them I blocked from my page because I simply got tired of all the requests, even though my Request Status was Closed.

Please understand, good fans, we're not hating on you. We just are hating upon the people who are too cheap to pay or trade for what they want.
